Exploring America: Utah

Jeff Berkes Photography offers custom and private photographic adventure workshops in Arches and Canyonlands National Park(s), Utah.  During these adventures, you will learn to  adapt in adverse conditions and use those conditions to your advantage. How angry do you get when you travel far away, spend all sorts of money, do a bunch of cool things and then your pictures don’t live up to your memories? It has happen way too many times for me to just sit around and not help you out.

Capturing the Cosmos

Capturing the Cosmos

In addition to camera settings and camera controls,  on-camera and off-camera flash techniques , lens filters, Adobe Photoshop techniques and Adobe Lightroom controls and functions,  you will learn to shoot  at sunrise, midday, sunset and at night! (The nighttime sessions are optional for those who want to capture the cosmos, if you can stay awake a little longer, it’s well worth it.)

“My most popular photo of 2011 was of a Orionid Meteor during the Orionid Meteor Shower in October 2011. The image now called “Islands in Autumn”  and named one of “The Best Space Pictures of 2011” by National Geographic has been my most popular shots to date.  Staying up late isn’t necessarily always a bad thing.

  1. Want to travel around America for a year if my mum will let me by myself…Lol

I have family in Salt Lake city Utah and Texas…

I want to explore places in that area or even in other states…Any Ideas?

I want to explore the real America so I dont want to be sleeping in Hotels…And going on cruises whatever…

    I want to see the *REAL* America…the culture,the people…
The things hidden behind the Advertisements and travel promotions

    • There are plenty of campsites in national parks … 120.00/night (hotel) VS. 15.00/night (camping). can’t beat that! There are many sites in Utah like, Zion, Byrce Canyon, Arches and Canyonlands. I am trying to put together a photo workshop in Utah for this August 2012. It will last 4 days and it is non stop adventure! We will be visiting Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Dead Horse State Park, head hikes and even better views!… Let me know if your interested in attending!

      All the Best –

  2. Hi Jeff, great images. The Milky Way is well captured, despite the light pollution.
Never tried astrophotography, but I have a keen interest in astronomy usinng my 6″ refractor.

    • Thanks for the kind words Jim. I have never used a telescope for astrophotography, but it is something I really want to jump in.. I’m sure I will dabble around in it at some point. Thanks again!
